11.1 Licensing
How does licensing work?
Each screen's player app activates against a MATX license. Administrators assign licenses in License Management, and a license key is generated when the player is activated.
Where can I see how many licenses are in use?
On the Dashboard, the Active Licenses card shows licenses in use. License Management shows the details.
How do I get more licenses?
Contact support@matxsignage.com. Licensing depends on your agreement and plan.
11.2 Supported media
What kind of content can I use?
The Media Library holds images, videos, fonts and webpages. You can also add live widgets from Tools & Widgets.
Which file formats and sizes are supported?
When you upload from your device, the Media Library accepts images (JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF), GIF animations, videos (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM, FLV, WMV, MTS, M2TS, 3GP), audio files, common office documents and fonts (TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2). The default limit is 20 MB per file. Your organization's settings can set a different limit.
11.3 Offline playback
What happens if a screen loses its internet connection?
The screen shows as offline in the portal, and new publish jobs cannot reach it until it reconnects. The player app downloads published media and stores it on the device. For details on playback during an outage for your deployment, contact support@matxsignage.com.
How do I know when a screen is back online?
Check its status on the Screens page and the Online Screens card on the Dashboard.
11.4 Users
How do I give someone access?
An administrator adds the person in Users, then adds them to the right Virtual Spaces with Manage Members and a role.
Can I limit what someone can do?
Yes. Use Roles & Permissions to control what each role can do, for example who can publish.
Can I see who changed something?
Yes. Audit Logs record who changed what.
11.5 Time zones
Where do I set a screen's time zone?
Set the Time Zone when you add the device with Add New Device, and check it in the device details.
Do widgets use their own time zone?
Widgets such as Clock and World Clock have a time zone setting in Create App. Set it to match what you want to display.
How do I schedule across several time zones?
Check the time zone of each target screen first, then test the schedule on one screen in each zone before a wide rollout.
11.6 Security
How is access controlled?
Users sign in with their own accounts. Roles & Permissions and Virtual Space membership control what each person can see and do.
Why was I signed out?
MATX may end a session, for example after a period of inactivity. Sign in again and check that your last change was saved.
Where can I find security and privacy information?
See the MATX privacy page at https://matxsignage.com/privacy.html. For security documentation, contact support@matxsignage.com.
